I love to explore and to learn from explorers. I talk to strangers. I love meeting new people and holding on to connections. I love seeing new places and revisiting favorites. I enjoy experiencing culture on the fringe even if I’m just looking. I love questioning cultural norms, even if we cannot separate ourselves from them entirely. I’m generally eager for my next adventure. This restlessness can be unsettling, so I distract myself by making plans.
I do not take for granted how incredibly fortunate I have been to have opportunities to see so much of this big world so young. However, I am realizing, that as the years pass ever faster, my memories are less vivid of many places I have been, and I am of little help to friends + family who ask for suggestions when planning a trip. So, in an effort to capture stories, details, and memories for them and me– I made this. This site serves partly my own need to catalog and document my adventures and experiences. I hope it will also be a handy reference for others planning trips. Much of the initial content is retroactive and contains information from memory, which in some cases is surprisingly little. But, I vow to do better moving forward. I plan to include more detail, interesting anecdotes, and of course the occasional horrendous, but always hilarious food poisoning account.
Also hoping this is a place for me to collect some good travel tips. Always looking for destinations, local contacts, food recommendations, and travel buddies, so please share the best of what you find as the journey takes you. I know many of you travel often and have been many places I have yet to go. Would desperately love help with ideas, interesting places to stay, and delicious eats from your adventures.
