Prague is place I remember with fond feelings but in vague detail. I am of Czech decent, so made sure to add this to my itinerary while backpacking solo after my college study abroad experience. I visited in 2005, and sadly have not yet made it back. Its one of those places I would certainly like to revisit and explore with more time in greater detail. My memories conjure up words like magical, haunted and fairytale, as this city was left very untouched compared to most of Eastern Europe through its violent history.
EXPERIENCE
Walking the ancient and enchanted streets of Prague is really the highlight of being there. Of course you will not miss the iconic Charles Bridge that spans the city and is littered with locals selling handicrafts and souvenirs. For a much better account of what to see and do I would check out: http://www.myczechrepublic.com/prague/sightseeing/charles_bridge.html
STAY
While in Prague I stayed in a hostel I no longer remember the name of and certainly would not recommend. This experience is burned in my mind, as the evening where I slept inside my communal pillow pillowcase to hide from the sights and sounds of my English stag party hostel mates and their army of prostitutes which they returned to our group-room hostel with. Oiy — they joys of Europe on a budget.
EAT
I honestly cannot remember eating anything noteworthy while in Prague, though this certainly does not mean these things do not exist. In part due to my age I was particularly intrigued by the abundance of Absinthe served very traditionally, and of course the wide selection of fantastic Czech beers.
